Irish venue to stage Ladbrokers Million live qualifier
Ladbrokes Million V

The Macau card club in Cork will stage a live qualifying tournament for the 72 seat Ladbrokes Poker Million

Without a doubt the Ladbrokes.com Poker Million will be the biggest tournament in Europe this year. There is still a buzz surrounding last year’s tournament in which online qualifier Tony Jones scooped the first place prize of million, and TV presenter Helen Chamberlain grabbed second.

As is the way with top flight poker tournaments this year’s version will be bigger and better with ,120,000 on offer to the 72 players.

It’s not for nothing that we have named the Ladbrokes Million in our top 10 tournaments in the world in 2006. Televised by Sky Sports in the UK, it’s due to be played in December later this year.

Entry into the tournament has been described as "more sought after than a golden ticket to Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory" and demand for a place among the 72 contestants is overwhelming.

However, Cork's Macau Casino and Card Club, one of the biggest and fastest growing in Europe, will be sending a lucky player to the .2 million to-the-winner event.

On Saturday May 13, for a €330 entry fee, their players will have a chance to make the televised stages of the Ladbrokespoker.com Poker Million and a chance to change their life forever.

Ken Corkery, manager at the plush Macau Casino commented: "We are delighted to be staging a qualifier for the Ladbrokespoker.com Poker Million and to give our players a shot at going to the very top in one of the world's most famous poker tournaments."

Nigel Blower, Marketing Manager at Ladbrokespoker.com added: "As Europe's biggest online poker site it is only fitting that Ladbrokespoker.com is behind the showpiece Poker Million tournament. This year we have broken from tradition and are staging a limited number of land-based qualifiers."

"With Cork's Macau Casino being such a progressive, sizeable and plush venue, and considering the city is easily accessible by air, it was a logical choice for a Poker Million satellite.”

So there you have it. Get on over to the budget airline’s websites and book your flights for a shot at the big one.
