Playing card round-up
Bee

Publisher: www.gamble.co.uk
Price: £2.45

A pack of cards is the most important part of any poker game – make sure you never play with a duff deck again

LOOK

Cambric finish, which is very similar to linen, and affords some protection for the paper underneath. Gives no protection over the nasty design on the back – don’t play with them when hungover. 2/5

SHUFFLEABILITY

Extremely rigid, which means a lot of work for a hand shuffle. The cards also showed signs of bend afterwards. Not good. 1/5

MIDDLE BEND

Far too rigid to take this amount of bend without suffering irreversible damage. Great if you’re looking for a traditional roof for your house of cards, otherwise pretty rubbish. 2/5

CORNER BEND

Again, not good. Stayed bent back and left a noticeable fold mark on the card. Definitely not useable afterwards. 2/5

NINJA

Suffered a lot of damage at the corners and fared little better on the deal. The main problem was uplift to the extent that several cards flipped over on a normal dealing action. 2/5

WASHABILITY

Mucky. Not the worst out of all the cards but they were left wrinkled and stained. No amount of wiping was going to get them clean. 2/5

VALUE FOR MONEY

Cheap doesn’t always equal value for money. These might last a couple of nights if you’re lucky but they don’t represent a good investment. 2/5

OVERALL

You don’t have to spend a lot of money to get a decent pack of cards, so why would you spend a few pennies less to get an awful deck like this. Absolutely no good for poker at all.
Total score: 13/35
