Weekend Review

Another top weekend in the Super 14, the cricket traded beautifully and Singh hammered Els in the golf

Super 13

Crusaders v Waratahs

The Crusaders duly delivered once more with a great cover of the points handicap at home to the NSW Waratahs. It looked a bit dodgy till four scores in 25 minutes in the second half, and they ran out very comfortable winners 34-7. More importantly for us another Super 14 bet correct and another 10/11 win.

Highlanders v Force

Second match was the Force down south in Kiwiland against the Highlanders. We backed the Perth boys at 4/6 and they managed to secure the win in the last few minutes with some excellent kicks. Truth is they should have won by 20 which is something for us to remember for future rounds.

Lions v Reds

Lay the side scoring first as this could be a flip-flop game was the call, and the Lions went 6-0 up and then went 6-10 down as the Reds kicked a penalty and then converted a good try.

Then the Lions took the lead and held it pretty much close to the final minutes when the Reds swamped them and scored a last minute converted try to DRAW the game.

Could be close was my reckoning and it was, mighty close. A perfect trader for us and completed another wonderful Super 14 weekend.

16 from 19 now is our tally. Happy days.

Cricket Third Test

We layed England at 3 believing they were too short. And as they slumped in the first 30 minutes losing 3 wickets we were in trading clover. We had plenty of opportunities to trade a great profit from our opening position. First when England were batting and once more when Fleming and How were putting on a century. England peaked as high as 8 so we should have been in good position.

England have since dominated but if you did not trade out then clearly you either gambled because at that stage New Zealand were a great lay, or ignored what we have been doing for so long and so successfully.

World Golf Championship Doral

Vijay Singh over Ernie Els @ 0.75

We ignored both the main market as Tiger was so dominant, and a lay. Instead we sourced a match-bet where we felt the marketmakers had made an error and Singh to beat Els was our call.

Neither had a good first round being over par - Singh one shot better but the second saw Els slump and Singh shoot a 5 under.

Then it just got better as Singh challenged for the entire tournament and Els continued to struggle.

After round three it looked a massive make up in our favour of at least 10 shots and that improved to an almost maximum make up as Els finished at +8 and was a never chance player while Singh took it to the very end and finished at -16.

The make-up was a massive 24.

THAT IS ONE HECK OF A WIN!!!!!!!!
