With both Ever Loved and Ysing Yi placing at Southwell, Stuart Eaton has once again swelled our bank accounts.

Southwell

2.10 - Little strength in depth in the opener at Southwell and it looks like there are three horses with live chances. Ever Loved has had an average start to racing but may yet hold some ability. Last time out she tracked the leaders and made her effort over 2 furlongs out, she soon looked one paced however and then edged left and weakened. She looks like she could be one for the minor placings today.

Ysing Yi showed very limited form on his debut over 7f on easy ground at Beverly but the experience was clearly not lost on him and he put up a much improved effort in his next race. Last time out he travelled well to a point just off the leaders, he did not pick up immediately when asked, but kept on to grab second in a bunched finish. He should be there or thereabouts at the business end of this one.

Choral Festival is nicely bred and is a half sister to the decent filly Chorist. Her debut didn’t look like much on paper although she did shape better than the finishing position suggested. Last time out she was closing on the winner throughout the final furlong but unfortunately the line came just too soon. She did give the impression that there was a race to be won with her and this looks to be a good opportunity to do just that today.

Goodwood

4.20 - This looks to be a great opportunity for the John Dunlop trained Duncan to get off the mark at the third time of asking. He is a nicely bred sort and is a half brother to a smart Listed grade performer. Last time out he pressed the leader and then challenged from the 2f pole, he finally led just over 1f out but was just headed at the end and missed out by a half length. Time may tell that his conqueror on that day will turn out to be a very nice filly but in any case he is sure to come on again for the race and will take all the beating today. Of the rest Isabella Glyn seems to be the biggest danger.
